So today I was at an event put on my Ben Settle, Ryan Lee
and
Dan Meredith in Westchester NY.
80 people in the room.
When I walked in everyone was buzzing about...
Laughing and talking.
And me...
I FROZE.
Cause I'm a wallflower.
Yes....The social media queen is INCREDIBLY
socially awkward.
Usually at an event I walk in and someone knows me
and I parlay off of my existing contacts to help me
find some ease in meeting new people.
But today not a single person knew who I was.
And I was familiar with not a soul
(other than Ben and I was not going to pester him
as he is a crazy introvert like me and getting bombarded
by people
who wanted to pick his brain)
So I sat in the back of the room
Learning a tremendous amount
BY MYSELF
And you know what...
I was cool with it.
Because THIS IS WHO I AM.
And long ago I decided to stop beating myself
up over my weaknesses and capitalize on
MY STRENGTHS.
Working a cold room is just not one of them.
But I do know how to build a massive
tribe by parlaying
relationships one into another.
And most often I start them ONLINE.
If I had wanted to I could have forced myself to
"mix and mingle" today giving myself a great deal
of anxiety.
But anxiety is not something I encourage anymore.
I used to think I HAD to do what scared me to
death.
But today I just know that all I need to do is find another
path to my desired outcome.
I have learned to live in EASE AND FLOW
So why am I telling you this?
Because:
1) I want you to know that EVERYONE has weaknesses.
Some of them EXTREME....Like mine.
2) And on the flip side...
EVERYONE has a sweet spot.
A place of EASE AND FLOW.
I found mine online.
Now it's your turn to find YOURS if you haven't already.
Because let me tell you...
Once you find it....
It's magic!!!
You don't have to be everything.
You
don't have to be like everyone else.
All you need to be is YOU.
Decide to really EMBRACE that person
and everything will open up.
