The thing I find most peculiar about the home business space is
the way people inject a ton emotion into what should be simple
business decisions.
If one owned a store and a particular product didn't move they
would stick another product...right?
If one had a business in a location that didnt get
much
traffic and they had a chance to lease space in another
location that gets a ton of prime foot traffic wouldn't it
make sense for them to move?
And if the existing vendor or land lord wanted to keep them
wouldn't they just make an offer of a concession to keep
the
retailer or tenant in tact?
No one would cry.
No one would take it personal.
No one would post nasty notes on Facebook.
Why?
Because business is business and business people GET that!
And yet when people in this space change programs or add
something to their marketing mix the rumor mill starts to churn.
The drama
begins.
The shunning commences.
The wringing of hands goes on.
It's nuts if you ask me.
The idea of business is to be profitable.
We must make business decisions in order to
be profitable and sometimes that means changing
venues or product lines.
It's a natural evolution.
And I for one hope to help more home business
owners
REALLY grasp that and get out of the emotion.
Especially when that emotion does not do anything to
move your business forward.
Because the sooner you learn that
BUSINESS IS BUSINESS
The sooner you will soar to the top.
It's just not personal.
Some thoughts on
a lazy Saturday afternoon as
I watch the mania pass by.
I decided many moons ago not to be of it all.
I hope you do too :)
Enjoy your weekend.

P.S. I recently added a new entity to my business mix myself
and have seen people talking.
The easy thing to do would be to just ASK ME if you
are looking
and not worry about it if you're not...right?
Don't get caught up in gossip.
Trust me...it will weight you down....BIG TIME.
