That line has become iconic..especially in this
industry where everyone is SO money obsessed.
Every day I see someone screaming about money
and
I see people knee jerk reacting to it without
checking anything out.
One minute they are not interested and the next
they are ravenous....
Mostly due to one thing...
Social Proof.
Or...in some cases its REAL PROOF although said
proof may be packaged to the benefit of the seller.
What do I
mean?
Well take for example the other day....
I have a group that I taught email copy writing technique to.
We were doing follow up and perusing people's work and
I casually mentioned that people should check out a series I
wrote that brought in $18,000 in commissions which brought me
up to about $50k in
commissions for the month which I think is
pretty cool for a housewife who started with no experience.
Well golly....
You would have think that world collided because all of
a sudden people who has sit with me for weeks on end
clearly knowing I had profound mastery of the topic they
were learning were nuts for coaching and advanced
consultation.
A day ago I could barely get then to work but when I mentioned
THE MONEY they all went nuts and sat up and took notice.
Numerous people were begging to hand me thousands of
dollars.
It was nuts!
Now me...
I hate enticement and exaggerated claims and all the crap
you see out there....
I was a broke housewife trying to make an extra $500
when I started out and all the pictures of stacks of hundred
dollar bills and the people in front of Mazerattis didn't seem
real to me so I never went for that stuff...
But people do.
They go for it like crazy.
But for me that was never something I felt comfortable
doing.
Flashing checks and attracting people through greed...
But I DID figure out some techniques that were
not
sleazy but DID have the same SOCIAL PROOF effect
that attracted them right to me...
And you don't need to be making $50k a month to get started
with your own TRACTOR BEAM that pulls prospects to you.
The first concept you can use is ATTRACTION BY ASSOCIATION.
This is simply hanging out with those that are
at the top
of the game and being photographed with them.
And no..Not the usual FAN BOY picture where you pose with
the guru like a million others have...
But pictures showing you HANGING OUT with the players.
Having fun.
That causes people to associate you with the success of the
people you are
with.
Very effective.
The way to do this is to get to EVENTS and hang out at
the AFTER PARTIES.
The next way to get SOCIAL PROOF traction is to commit to
the process at your program, get a result with the product or
opportunity and then share the result.
Doesn't have to be big....Just needs to be a
result that people want....
Like losing 6 pounds, generating ten leads or making $100.
All of that works and is very believable to the people around you,
And then last and the MOST POWERFUL for someone
who is coming down the road is a picture of you ON STAGE
and/or getting an award.
