I live in a small town
I moved here after my divorce and I find it truly peaceful.
My community borders a lake and most mornings when the weather is
good you can find me down there....
Getting my steps in and taking in the beautiful view.
This is the kind of place where folks gather on the
town green on a warm summer night to listen to some
music while the kids catch fireflies and the whole town gathers
in the fall for the harvest fair.
A lovely New England respite from busy New York and Boston.
Certainly far away from what we are seeing in the Big Apple right now.
My daughter is in the city and every day I pray for her safely.
She stays in ...is fostering two cats and has a solid job with
a MAJOR company so I suspect things will work out just fine.
She is safe and secure in the middle of a sea of madness.
Me...I am watching the crocuses coming up and planning all
my delightful morning walks when the sun comes out to shine...
And then it happened.
The town that had NO CASES of Corona Virus just a few days ago
My little New England refuge...
Had its first DEATH from the virus.
And this was not just any death.
It was the taking of a man in his prime....THIRTY FIVE YEARS OLD.
And his young wife is in the ICU now fighting for her life.
So what do we do in a small Connecticut town when one of our
own is in trouble?
We sit vigil.
The whole town has been coming out each night at 8pm
to ring bells and be a community and tonight we do it
for our lost son Mike and with prayers for his wife.
I do not know these people.
But I do know that is could just as easily happen to someone
I love at any minute.
A friend said to me today that something is different in me.
That I look different.
Hell yes something is different in me!
People are dying...
People are sick...
People are losing their incomes..
And the home business circus just keeps going.
My inbox full of stupidity and my Facebook feed (which I have
not been looking at much) is full of insanity.
And people are rubbing their hands together ready to pounce on
all the unfortunates with a biz op pitch like they are fresh meat.
Yes...I am the one your gurus warned you about.
The one who will say not to do business as normal.
But my Lord.....
How can you do business as normal when this is happening to our neighbors?
Our neighbors who need our products and services more than ever.
Our neighbors who need our opportunities as a life line and as an option
for income as they watch all they have worked for evaporating in front
of their eyes.
But please...for the LOVE OF GOD...
Grasp the CONTEXT of the times we are in.
YES....people need what you have.
NO...it is not time to use hype and coercion.
It is time to use SENSITIVITY and care.
It is time to tone down the money making bull and
amp up the love and care.
This thing may have not touched you yet...
But it will.
Reality came to my little town today.
And at 8 pm I will go outside with my neighbors and sit vigil.
And on my social accounts and here with my subscribers I
will sit vigil...
BEGGING YOU to focus in on HUMAN SKILLS.
Communication
Compassion...
Empathy...
And YES...
Salesmanship which sits inside of understanding someones NEEDS.
What do they need right now?
Not endless red hot leads.
Trust me....
Not one person out there right now is thinking about that.
In fact....
If you are reading this I bet you're not either.
You're thinking...
"How do I make this work"
And chances are you are looking for an answer outside of yourself.
STOP IT.
Cause in times like these the only place to look is INSIDE.
Get the right tools.
Get the right mentor ...
And get the right MINDSET
Everything else is just a vehicle.
The only way you are gonna be safe from the virus is if you CONTROL YOURSELF
The only way you are going to be safe in the home business industry will
be if you CONTROL YOURSELF.
Learn to manage your expenses and cash flow...
Learn to speak to people properly
Learn to write properly
And
LEARN TO GIVE A SHIT.
I do.
But you already know that.
It's time to go ring my bell.
Stay safe.
