I work from my house.
I have for 20 years now so staying home in my sweatpants is nothing new.
I love it.
Being stuck at home right now is not a big difference for me
At least physically
But mentally it is a huge difference
Back in the day when laptops became prevalent we always used the term
Work From Home Or Anywhere
But all of a sudden ANYWHERE is no longer an option
Hard to believe that a week ago I was in New York City and
this week I am literally and legally barred from going out at all.
Well I suppose I could sneak out the back door....
But nothing is open
So where would I go if I wanted to
And who would I hang with?
Everyone is afraid.
And I have to admit it...
I'm just a little bit too
OK maybe more than a little bit
Not so much for me but more for my family.
And all the people in my community that I love.
But I think the thing I am most afraid of is
really BEING with myself.
No where to bolt to....
No plane to jump on.
No wine around to drink and
no people around to invite over.
It's just ME and the QUIET.
And ME is scacry.
I'm mean serious...
I'm a SCARY BITCH!
<lol>
I am a hard charging obsessive worker or a non charging
couch sitter who binges on whole series at a time.
I'm not afraid to say I am a BRILLIANT marketing strategist
who can pull money out of thin air and yet I am also a SLUG who
at times <like now> waits until ten o'clock to write their list.
So here I am...
Without deadlines, and places to be...
Heck...I am not even allowed to go out to eat.
And the news and social medial can become all consuming.
Plus I am lamenting the cruise I am supposed to be on at this very moment.
Fruity drinks and dance parties were not meant for me this time around.
Nope...this time its just ME and ME for the duration.
And no...
I am not going to give you the mumbo jumbo that the rest of the
crowd will tell you...
Try to keep you perky and producing...
Have you hitting up people on messenger with goofy games of
footsie trying to make a sale.
Nope...
Uh Uhhhh
I'm an OPTIMISTIC REALIST
|
Right now I know that the poop has hit the fan and most
people don't realize it yet and no one in the industry wants
to say it.
Me...
I'll say it.
And I will also say that we are very close to being in times
of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST (in business--Not life)
We are all gonna be OK.
I am not worried about that.
Just stay home,....wash your hands and love you family and it will
all work out.
But in business....
It's gonna be a tilt like we have never seen before.
And just like I told you above what scares me is ME being with ME....
You may want to really want to start contemplate the concept of YOU
being with YOU.
Those that look in the mirror now and get REAL about the work that
has to be done to stay alive on the other side will be the ones that survive.
Or maybe you are one of the perennial "course takers" that has never
quite put into action what you have learned....
Well NOW is the time to pull out those courses....
Remember what you learned and put it into ACTION.
But please....whatever you do...
Put it into action IN CONTEXT.
You MUST remember what is going on out there.
You MUST treat people with honor and respect ...
And you MUST sell into the conversations they are having in their
heads versus pushing your own agenda.
TRUST ME....
The herd is about to be thinned.
But if you play your cards right this could be
YOUR TIME TO SHINE.
The MOMENT OF YOUR DESTINY.
I remember mine.
I hit it and I never looked back.
Much is about to change...
And in change there is opportunity.
I want that for you.
As for me...
I am not terribly worried.
A little cooped up and trying to get comfortable.
A little weirded out that I have no where to run.
But maybe....
Just maybe.....
That's EXACTLY what I need.
So for now...
I will be WORKING FROM HOME for the duration.
If you're home to...
Say hi and let me know how I can help you.
I predict that soon we will ALL be home.
Since I have been doing it for TWENTY years I have a lot of tips I can share.
But the one thing I will not do is feed you baloney at a time like this.
None of us can afford anything but THE TRUTH right now
And I respect you enough to deliver it.
Talk tomorrow.....
