So I had two conversations today that I have
been rolling around
in my head for a few hours now.
During both of them I had a DEJA VU.
I was back in 2006 all over again.
2006 when "web 2.0" was emerging.
Everyone was getting high speed internet.
Blogs became available to the average person...
YouTube was born.
And all of a sudden....ANYONE that wanted to say something
could.
It's been 12 years now.
And truthfully....for me the "web 2.0" revolution was glorious.
I went from being a house mom peddling vitamins and shakes
from the trunk of her car to traveling the world and speaking
on stages in front of thousands of
people.
All because I chose to run into the future and not look back.
Well today YouTube has millions of videos, Facebook is a juggernaut
and Instagram is a way of life.
Heck...even grandmas use social media so it for sure ain't new.
The wonders of the new internet
Its has
changed the word rapidly..
But along with the wonders of the new media came the vast exposure
of the marketplace to every possible form or marketing...
Both responsible and incredible.
The bombardment of ads in ways society has never seen
People are tired...
The FTC is tired.
The European Union is tired.
The laws are changing.
And just like I yelled in 2007 to RUN into social
media
while the getting is good...
I am here now to tell you that THE PARTY'S OVER.
And if you don't learn a few things right now you will be left behind...
Just as so many were at the end of the 2000s.
And the scariest party is that most home business owners
have been sold up the river on products and ideas that are
obsolete before you even crack open the course.
You can't keep up with the internet anymore.
It's IMPOSSIBLE
So the only choice is to STOP.
This is why I have always stuck with THE TIMELESS.
That which never changes.
I never put out anything that is based on a technology
as the technology will evolve...now a days faster than you
can blink an eye.
I never put out anything that is based on a platform as the
platforms change
I never put out anything that is based on anything other than
HUMAN NATURE...and the way people MOVE.
Because that is the ONE THING you can always bank on.
And right now people are right on the edge of BEING DONE.
So if you
continue to do what you did in the 2010's in the 2020s
you will either be run out of town or ignored...
And most people won't even know why.
What you have here is a simple case of quality demand
versus quantity demand.
The internet and social media has taken what was precious in the 90s...
CONTENT
And made it a commodity.
Content...that which people
once hunted for...(I know I did)
is now a dime a dozen.
Heck....even opt in pages are becoming taboo.
It won't be long now until you can't hack a funnel or trip a wire,
capture, upsell, downsell or an of the other 2011 tricks that
were so hot.
In addition to that....
Everyone has been told to be "the teacher" and the facebook
feed is full of thousands of people driveling on..."teaching" absolutely
NO ONE
Everyone is the "expert"
Well you can't have a room full of experts and expect everyone to be the expert.
Doesn't work that way..
So only a few emerge as the marketplace accepted EXPERTS and everyone
else just looks foolish.
And then those that become the "accepted
expert" who think they have won the game
end up finding out that being the "expert" in the end is a destruction process.
Combustion is inevitable.
The crowd turns on experts and consumes them for lunch in time.
We have become an industry that has cannibalized itself.
But nobody realizes it
yet.
I predict it will take about another 2 years for the truth to become
so loud its undeniable.
Look around...Slick is over.
Vulnerability is in.
Private jets are pase
People sitting in their bedrooms making true confessions
into a camera is where its at.
Stacks of money are out and backpacking around the globe is in.
The youth want
experiences...not STUFF.
And the elders are realizing their life long pursuit of the Alex P. Keaton
red whilte and blue hunt for the buck has left them empty and alone.
And an industry that has focused on STUFF for the last 40 years
is imploding with company closures, class action suits and documentaries
about all of it
on Netflix.
Not to mention late night parodies that are too funny not to laugh at.
Why...because when you step back and look at it...
it's pure ridiculosity. <I am not sure if that is a word and I don't care>
WHY?
Because
The End Is Near.
The signs are here.
The only question is...
What are you going to do about it for you.
If you wait to see what happens you will likely be too
late.
So PAY ATTENTION.
Stay tuned.
And I'll tell you what I am seeing and where I am going.
And with that information you can decide for yourself what you
want to do.
We are at a NEXUS.
And when we get to one there is ALWAYS significant opportunity.
And ya....a
little pain...and a little angst.
But opportunity.
I'm sure you have heard on some call or in some meeting
somewhere that "You are in the right place at the right time"
It's been said millions of times...right?
But what if you actually were this time and you knew in advance
that it was
here.
Wouldn't that be cool?
Happened to me last time and it changed my life.
And 99% of the people that I begged to listen didn't hear me.
This time I am not going to beg anyone.
Cause me....I know what this is.
It's the COOKIE.
And I've got it.

a gut feeling that has been bubbling in me for some time.

Sometime ask me to hear my predictions from 2006 and 2007.
They would shock you.
Everything you think you know about marketing is about to flip upside down.
The audience is more sophisticated than ever.
The silly games are over.
The people are smart.
The question is...ARE WE?
