How was your 4th of July?
I spent a bunch of the weekend with my parents but Friday night I decided to go on a "sociological journey" and attend the New Kids On The Block Mix Tape Tour.
The show had the kids, Rick Astley, Salt and Pepa and En Vogue so I figured it would be a fun journey back in time for a few hours.
I was never a NKOTB fan back in the day.
I was too old for them.
Busy with career and starting a family late eighties/early 90s so I never got caught up in the mania.
Truth is I am not sure I have the "fan gene" in me.
I love music for sure but I was never a FAN GIRL for anyone...
Even the cutest of boy bands.
So when I arrived at the concert venue and saw the bevy of 45 year old screaming women wearing sparkly jackets to match their favorite kid I was FASCINATED.
And it made me think a lot of the home business industry and how folks get caught up in the GURU MENTALITY.
Guru worship is a dangerous thing.
It takes the focus off of your own business while you are busy gobbling up everything from the "idol" denting the wallet and very often the self image of the "FAN".
That's why when I work with people on THEIR business I make sure we keep the issue the issue.
And the issue is learning the fine art of MAKING MO.NEY.
It's so easy to watch OTHERS make mo.ney and live vicariously though their success.
It's the same vibe that lets 45 year old women idolize middle aged men in outfits that no 55 year old should be wearing!
(I know..I know...judgemental....I'm working on that but I DO have photographic evidence of a silver lame cat suit on a full grown man that was ...Let's just say...A BIT MUCH).
We all love to IMAGINE.
We all love to be a voyeur.
We all love to fantasize...
And TRUST ME there was A LOT of fantizing going on.
Apparently Donnie Wahlberg was in the casino outside the arena until 3 am and he had reams of women following him around...
Hoping perhaps they'd be the one to go UPSTAIRS with the happily married 52 year old...
But I digress...
Guru Worship is a weird thing.
Guru RELATIONSHIP on the other hand is a whole nutha game.
That how I got here you know.....
Met an old MLM guru who was out of the game for a while.
Sat with him and learned from him and in time he revealed all his BOY BAND tricks.
Exactly how to work the crowd.
How to enter a room.
How to receive people.
How to leave then feeling AMAZING at the end of THE SHOW.
And most of all...
How to MONETIZE.
We always talked about mo.ney making.
Daily cash flow.
Recurring income.
Creating marketing assets.
All the truly life changing stuff.
And thats the kind of stuff we work on in my All Access Pass program.
The REAL THINGS.
Not guru fodder but hands on help with all the things you need to learn...
ESPECIALLY the self image stuff that you need to conquer in order to make it in ths game.
If that interests you ASK ME.
We begin our July sessions tomorrow and this month we are digging in to PROMOTION in a big way.
How to collect eyeballs.
Major skill that most of the FANS out there do not possess.
I love me a good old school concert.
I love a great Rick Roll.
I wanna thank your mother for a butt like that!
I love an aging boy band and YES...
I love GURUS.
But for me...
I prefer REAL LIFE mo.ney making over the fantasy.
And hey...
Who knows..
Maybe we'll get sparkly jackets for the ALL ACCESS CREW and show up at a marketing event and make an entrance like the industry has never seen!
But in the interim we'll be hanging on zoom learning the skills that set you free FUR REALZ!
Cause FREEDOM is what I'm all about.
As En Vogue says
FREE YOUR MIND AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW.
Im inclined to agree.
Signing off from 30,000 feet en route to Atlanta.
Got some bidness to do there!
If you're local and want to come say hi...
SHOUT.
Diane
P.S. I said I'm not a fan girl and that is largely true.
But just might be YOUR biggest fan.
That why I do what I do.
Because I BELIEVE IN YOU and your capacity to build
a successful business.
XOXO
